Kathy Hurley Named to ScholarCentric Board of Directors
Senior Vice President at Pearson School Companies Brings 35 Years
of Education Experience to Education Publishing Company’s Board
DENVER May 21, 2007 ScholarCentric announced today that Kathy Hurley, a 35-year veteran of the education industry, has joined the company’s board of directors. Hurley is currently senior vice president, strategic partnerships at Pearson School Companies. Prior to joining Pearson, the world’s largest education company, she served as vice president, education, for Plato Learning.
ScholarCentric is focused on developing research-based products that build academic success. “Success Highways,” the company’s flagship product, helps at-risk middle and high school students build the skills necessary to be able to graduate and move on to achieve their aspirations.

In addition to her deep experience in the corporate education community, Hurley serves on industry and education boards, such as the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, the National School Boards Foundation and the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). A presenter at numerous conferences, her achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Outstanding Private Sector Achievement Award from the Council on School Networking (CoSN).

A former teacher, Hurley earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and her master’s from Jersey City State College.
